Volcan Mountain Painting

A group of Julian artists was asked if we'd like to drive up Volcan Mountain Preserve to plein air paint.  I joined the group.  There were  about a dozen of us.  The preserve is gated.  We were granted an easement for the day.  We drove up a narrow windy road to a beautiful valley on top.  Many of the artists painted around the meadow.  I drove to the summit of the mountain where the views of the lower mountains and desert below were spectacular.  I set up.  This was to be my first watercolor plein air painting ever.  I tried to concentrate on the beauty of the view and capturing that.  I have to admit I thought about procedure more.  I finished one painting.  It will hang in the Julian Library for a couple weeks alongside the other artists works.

Please "Add Note" in Paypal payment indicating which painting you would like to purchase.
